Mental Health Drop In Sessions

Thrive Mental Health Drop In Sessions

  • It is open to people aged 18-64 with GPs in NW and who suffer from mental health illness or symptoms.
  • If people attend the drop in they will be seen by experienced mental health practitioners. There is a CPN at each clinic.
  • People that attend will be offered a  mental health conversation (assessment) and then either signposted to relevant supports or taken on for short term input by the team.
  • We do not offer diagnosis at the drops in’s.  It’s not a route into ADHD waiting list – we have the same criteria to follow.
  • It is a first come first served at the clinics.
  • The longest anyone has had to wait is approximately 25 minutes.
  • People with a NW GP can come to any of the drop ins held at Rannoch Centre, Botanic Gardens, Craigroyston health clinic and South Queensferry (parking is best at Rannoch centre and South Queensferry, Craigroyston and Life Care Centre both have parking and good bus routes).

Waiting for NHS Treatment

For information on waiting times and information for NHS treatments, please click the link below:

Podiatry

Patients can self-refer to Community Podiatry and the information can be found on the Podiatry Website:

Ear Syringe

We are currently unable to offer this service in the surgery, however, patients can self-refer without speaking to a GP first by calling 0131 537 7205; you will be given advice and then be booked into the closest available place.

The waiting time is usually around 2-3 weeks.

Private Services and Fees

Private and insurance medical examinations are done by special appointment only.

Please inform the receptionist at the time of making the appointment so that the time for the examination is appropriate.

Certain examinations and Certificates are not covered by the NHS and therefore attract a fee.

A list of fees is found under the ‘private fees’ section of this site.

Non-urgent advice: Patient Notice

Please be aware that any medical letters, certificates or anything that requires either completion by a GP or signed off by a GP require 14 working days notice.

Furthermore, please note that any charges now require to be paid prior to the work being done. We are not able to carry out any administration requests without prior payment.
